Up to Day 50 now....

So I've been horrible at keeping up with my blogging. Luckily, due to much nagging from Kathy, I'm back on track.

Here's how things have been going. On days 31-35, I fell off of the wagon a little bit due to my knee giving me lots of issues. I still worked out 3 or 4 times that week, but I did mostly yoga and armstrength training. For days 36-43, I was away on business in Albuquerque, NM. Despite being away on business, I worked out almost every single day while I was there! (I did yoga twice that week in lieu of plyometrics, and did all of the strength training days) Unfortunately my performance dropped given the high altitude (ABQ has roughly the same elevation as Denver). Once I got home, I got sick with Carrie's cold and missed the entire week of working out (I also missed an entire week of work, so I'm not too worried about missing a week or workouts). It was also supposed to be my recovery week before moving onto phase 3--I just recovered a little more than normal.

Today started day 50, as well as the beginning of phase 3. This is the last phase of the program, and it entails switching between the workouts of phase 1 and 2 every week. For example, this week I'll do chest/back, plyos, shoulders/tris/biceps, yoga, legs/back, and kenpo. Next week I'll do shoulders/triceps, plyos, back/biceps, yoga, legs/back, kenpo.

I'm still feeling a little weird from being sick, so I have to cut my workout short today (I made it through most all of the strength training exercises but couldn't get to abs). I'm noticing a marked improvement in my strength from when I started. I can lift about 30 lbs more during back exercises than I could when I started 9 weeks ago. Not too shabby.

I've bought myself a knee brace in hopes that it'll keep my knee from acting up during plyos tomorrow. We'll see how it works.
